MANNESMANN’S ATTEMPT TO DIVERSIFY INTO HIGH TECH LOOKS WAN

Steel pipe maker Mannesmann AG’s attempt to diversify into high tech is looking increasingly wan: the Frankfurt company says that turnover at the electrical and electronic division, which includes Keinzle, Tally, and industrial automation specialist Hartmann & Braun, fell by 16% to about $1,347m in 1987.
