MAJORITY IN COMPUTER SYSTEMS & DESIGN GOES TO DANETRE BUSINESS SYSTEMS

By CBR Staff Writer

The Pentad Holdings Group’s Northampton-based software dealer, Danetre Business Systems Ltd, has acquired the majority interest in the Apricot and Tetra Systems Centre, Computer Systems Design & Consultancy Ltd, also of Northampton. Daily control of the Centre will remain with its management team led by Graham Thompson, while Danetre will provide overall business planning and control procedures. The bulk of Danetre’s business is derived from selling and supporting integrated office systems on ICL hardware. Currently it is focussed on the Local Authority niche market, but is looking to expand into Financial Services and General Industries. With the announcement of this acquistion, however, all of its Apricot business will be handed over to the Computer Centre which has hitherto specialised in the distribution of personal computers. Computer Systems Design, previously a part of the Sharp & Law Plc group, is reportedly relieved to now be under the control of a computer group.
