A management team from the UK division of the computer maintenance and leasing company Dataserv Inc, – quoted in London until its acquisition by BellSouth Corp in late 1986 – led by its managing director Andrew Anderson, has acquired Krypton Engineering from the Krypton Group for UKP2m. The management buy-in will trade under the name ServiceTec Ltd and is based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. The company will specialise in the maintenance of IBM Series 1 minicomputers, System 36 and 38, 3270 terminal and MS-DOS micro networks, trading on the team’s experience in this area. The acquisition is financed by Baronsmead Plc and Charterhouse Develop-ment Capital Ltd, with Richard Horsnell of Baronsmead being appointed Investment Director.
