Israeli Rapid Application Development company Magic Software Enterprises Ltd has teamed with client-server application modeling tools vendor Popkin Software and Systems Inc of New York to provide integrated design, development and deployment of enterprise systems. The two are working on a software bridge between Popkin’s System Architect product line and Magic’s application development tools, due out in April. Magic and Popkin will sell the integrated products to both third party value added resellers and corporate businesses, enabling them to manage the application development process more effectively. Magic launched MagicWeb last month, describing it as the industry’s first Internet transaction processing rapid application development engine (CI No 3,095). It expects the next release to come in the third quarter of this year. Speaking about the partnership between the two companies, Mark McGregor, Popkin’s UK managing director said: Deployment time is Magic’s focus and ours is modeling, so we are maturing rapid application development into an enterprise-level client server environment.
