UK local area networking systems vendor Madge Networks Ltd, which formed a Japanese subsidiary in Tokyo in 1989, with the purpose of promoting its Token Ring network technology in Japan, has announced that it will be establishing a development division to assist in developing the market for Token Rings: specifically, by the summer it hopes to be marketing a Token Ring interface card for NEC Corp PC-9800 series personal computers and another card for machines to the AX standard; currently, over 90% of such networks in Japan are Ethernet networks; since its establishment in Japan, Madge Networks has developed a Japanese language version of its software that runs on the 9800 series personal computers.
