MACMILLAN TO BUY BRS INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES

The Macmillan Inc arm of Maxwell Communications Corp is to buy BRS Information Technologies from the Thyssen-Bornemisza Group of the Netherlands, on undisclosed terms: BRS is an on-line system offering over 150 databases covering the medical, physical sciences, social sciences and business areas; based in Latham, New York, it employs 180people, and will be combined with the Maxwell Pergamon Information Businesses to create a global on line information services business.
