Alameda, California-based Farallon Computing Inc has unveiled the Fast EtherTX-10/100 NuBus Card, which it claims is the first Fast Ethernet NuBus board for Power Macintosh, Quadra and Macintosh II systems. The product, which incorporates 3Com Corp’s Fast Ethernet Parallel Tasking chip set, features a single auto-sensing 10/100 RJ-45 port and can operate on either a 10Base-T or 100Base-T network. The board is said to be compatible with Mac OS, MacTCP, MacIPX, MacSimple Network Management Protocol, NetWare, AppleShare and Timbuktu. It is out now for ú300. Meantime, the company has also announced the AirDock, an infra-red adaptor said to enable Apple Computer Inc’s infra-red-equipped PowerBook 5300 computers to connect remotely to desktop Macs, via its bundled AirPath software, for access to network resources. It is out now for ú60.
