M4 DATA WINS OEM BUSINESS FROM NIXDORF FOR TAPE DRIVES

By CBR Staff Writer

In a deal rumoured to be worth more than its UKP5m contract with ICL, M4 Data of Camberley has won OEM business from Nixdorf Computer for nine track half-inch tape drives: the deal include the 9903 1600/3200 bits per inch phase encode, auto-load, low profile streaming tape drive, and the 9914 GCR tape drive; the drives which have up to 512Kb of cache buffer will be used in Nixdorf’s Targon and Quattro computer systems to provide back up and data interchange facilities.
