Search engine company Lycos Inc today announced that it has priced its previously-announced public offering of 2.25 million shares of common stock (CI No 3,411) at $50.00 per share, raising $112.5m, before costs. Of the total number of shares being sold, 2 million shares are being sold by the company and 250,000 shares are being sold by CMG Information Services Inc, which holds a 42% stake. Underwriters for the offering are Credit Suisse First Boston, Hambrecht & Quist, Merrill Lynch & Co, Bear, Stearns & Co Inc, Dain Rauscher Wessels, Volpe Brown Whelan & Co and Wasserstein Perella Securities Inc. The underwriters will have an option to purchase up to an additional 337,500 shares to cover over allotments. Lycos shares fell $1.375 on Friday to close at $50.125.
