Lycos Inc’s brief honeymoon with Wall street looked like ending yesterday, when the internet search engine company turned in considerably heavier losses than the Street had been expecting. Lycos reported net losses of 1.3m, or $0.09 per share, down from losses of $1.6m last year. First Call had the average estimate at $0.01 losses per share. Lycos had beaten Street estimates for the previous two quarters. Third quarter revenues were up to $5.9m, from $1.6m previously. The company declined to offer figures for the year to date.
