Lucent Technologies Inc believes it has come up with a solution to solve the problems of individual privacy on the web. The company has developed a Bell Labs research system, the Lucent Personalized Web Assistant which it says observes privacy but doesn’t inhibit the gathering of information. Web surfers can register at web sites with LPWA-created identity enabling users to return to the sites using the same identity.
