The LT1944’s constant off-time control scheme reduces quiescent current to a mere 20uA and provides high efficiency over a broad range of load current, thus, increasing the battery life. The LT1944 is ideal for generating the high voltage for LCD bias supplies and an additional power rail for applications such as PDA’s, digital cameras and other hand-held electronics.
The LT1944 operates from a 1.2V to 15V supply, making it ideal for 2-cell NiCd/NiMH, Alkaline or 1-cell Li-Ion applications. The low off time of 400ns permits the use of small, low cost inductors and capacitors, which minimize total PCB footprint and cost in space-conscious portable applications. The LT1944’s low 0.5uA shutdown current virtually eliminates battery drain during shutdown.
