With its high switching and tiny package, LT1931A surpasses any previously released parts as the smallest solution size for generating – 5V at up to 300mA from a 5V input. The small SOT-23 package and minimal external parts count make this device ideal for supplying low power bias voltages in noise-sensitive applications such as disk drive MR heads, GaAs FETs and digital cameras CCDs.

The LT1931A operates from a 2.6V to 16V supply and features an internal 1A, 36V rated switch. The high 2.2MHz switching frequency enables the use of small, low cost capacitors and inductors, which minimize total PCB footprint (8mm x 10mm) and maintains a height profile below 2mm. Its low 0.01uA shutdown current virtually eliminates battery drain during shutdown, extending operating time in battery powered portable devices.

The LT1931A is available from stock in a 5-lead SOT-23 package. Pricing starts at $1.95 each for the LT1931A in 1,000-piece quantities.
