In a bid to produce smaller and cheaper electronic products, LSI Logic Corp is teaming up with Micron Technology Inc to develop a new type of semiconductor. Both companies apparently intend to develop combined integrated logic-DRAM chips with up to 128Mb of memory and 8.1 million logic gates. Initial development products are anticipated by the middle of next year and first products are expected to operate at 2.5 and 3.3 volts. Each company will fund its own research on the technology.
