LOTUS TO BUY DATEXT

By CBR Staff Writer

Lotus Development Corp, Cambridge, has agreed to acquire Datext Inc, a Woburn, Massachusetts provider of business reference information on Compact optical disks. Datext is a majority-owned operating subsidiary of Cox Enterprises Inc of Atlanta. Datext’s product line includes six product series and 14 business reference databases on US public and private companies, international companies, commercial banks, savings and loan institutions, and technology firms. Lotus wants the company because it fits in with its One Source is a Personal Computer-based financial system that integrates eight financial databases, and the analytical software to screen and analyse them quickly. Terms of the pact were not given.
