Lotus Development Corp is now shipping its Lotus Agenda product in the US: the program is designed to help people manage personal information more intelligently, and says that there will be big business for software developers of applications to go with Agenda – among those in the works include industry-specific templates for bankers and lawyers, automatic analysis of on-line news feeds, restaurant guides for major US cities, a major oil company’s analysis of proposed legislation, and a handheld optical character recognition scanner that transfers data from a printed page directly into the program; it needs MS-DOS 2.0 or higher, 640Kb and a hard disk, and sells in the US for $395.
