Lotus Development Corp yesterday previewed Notes, an application in a new class of program being called groupware and specifically designed to increase productivity of people working in groups on networks. Out in about a year, Notes is designed to facilitate the planning of meetings, the sharing of documents, examination of documents in a library and tracking of projects. It is text based, but a number-based version is also planned. Availability is awaiting that of IBM’s Presentation Manager for the OS/2 operating system on the Personal System/2s.
