Lotus Development Corp’s slimmed-down Notes client, offering support for Windows, OS/2, and System 7 environments, will be on show at NetWorld+Interop next month: Notes Express, which Lotus plans to ship in the fourth quarter, is expected to cost $10; Express will make it possible for small and medium-sized companies to install and deploy Notes across an enterprise network easily because it will require no application development or significant training, reports PC Week; the software will enable users to access applications created by third-party development packages, including Microsoft Corp’s Visual Basic and Powersoft Corp’s PowerBuilder Library for Lotus Notes; in Notes 4.0, due in the first half of 1995, both the Express and the full Notes clients will also include the client-server version of cc:Mail.
