IBM Corp’s Lotus Development Corp has signed a definitive partnership agreement with France’s Ministry of Education to equip all interested primary and secondary schools and research institutes, between now and 2000, with its Domino, Notes and SmartSuite products. In preparing the Internet at School partnership over the last six months, the two have already completed more than 100 projects, connecting 3,500 schools and 200,000 students. The products are used for teaching projects, administration and teacher training. Lotus and the Ministry will also collaborate in building two intranet sites for education professionals experimenting with Domino, to help them get their establishments networked.
