Lotus Development Corp and Soft-Switch Inc have announced the Soft-Switch Lotus Notes Gateway, which enables the Lotus Notes group communications software to exchange mail with over 50 electronic mail systems supported by Soft-Switch; the Soft-Switch Lotus Notes Gateway is installed on a Lotus Notes Server and it enables Notes users to send mail to users on other mail systems connected to a Soft-Switch Enterprise Mail Network as though they were Notes users; revisable documents, binary files, and notes can be exchanged across the gateway and one gateway can support an entire network of Notes Servers; the gateway was developed by Lotus Development Corp in accordance with a business agreement between the two companies; Soft-Switch will support, maintain, enhance, and market the product and one of the early beta sites for the Gateway is Progressive Casualty Insurance Company of Cleveland; the product will be available in the third quarter of 1991 starts at around $5,000.
