Lotus Development Corp, Unisys Corp and NCR Corp all announced third quarter figures after we closed the inside last night, and the anxiously awaited Lotus figures showed net profit down 25% at $14.3m, 31 cents a share on sales up 15% at $116.8m; Unisys net rose 16% to $151m, 72 cents, on sales up 2% at $2,268m because of lower-than-expected orders and ships in the US; and NCR saw third quarter net up 5.4% at $103m, $1.26 a share, on turnover up 5% at $1,407m – the latter two sets of numbers showing a slowdown in the US, with NCR saying it sees little or no turnover growth in the fourth quarter versus last year after a fall in orders last quarter.
