Four of London’s financial markets were deemed fit for year 2000 readiness, with only two mistakes in hundreds of simulated trades which the markets carried out last fall. The London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange, the International Petroleum Exchange, the London Metal Exchange and the Scandinavia OM London Exchange all recorded encouraging results. None of the other participants were aware of the two errors, which were fixed within minutes. LondonÆs integrated testing puts it ahead of similar markets in Europe for millennium compliance.
