UK’s local authority, public services provider London Borough of Newham (LBN) Council has adopted HP Converged Infrastructure to improve electronic service delivery for over a quarter of a million citizens while saving costs.
With HP Converged Infrastructure, LBN services have become more customer-centric and accessible while reducing IT spend, enabling the Council to meet Government targets and the HP technology provides support flexible working practices and the delivery of new 24×7 services through a range of channels, it said.
HP Converged Infrastructure is a key element to an Instant-On Enterprise and it includes a server farm of HP ProLiant BladeSystem servers and a SAN based on an HP Enterprise Virtual Array (EVA) 6000, according to HP.
LBN council can achieve cost savings and secured storage capacity through a period of escalating data usage through the HP Converged Infrastructure, said HP.
London Borough of Newham Council ICT head Geoff Connell said with HP Converged Infrastructure, London Borough of Newham Council can now address a wide range of issues that impact its ability to function effectively in the modern world.
"Even though the new IT environment is more flexible and more future-proofed than before, we anticipate annual savings of around £1 million. What’s more, HP provides us with a strong partnership that we can leverage to move our environment forward in the longer term," said Connell.
