Commenting on its figures – see page five – Logitek Plc presents a picture of a tough little competitor battling away in an increasingly difficult market: the company says that sales of Wyse Technology products were particularly buoyant and that the success of the Altos Computer Systems Unix range has improved turnover of the Systems division – but that margins have declined slightly – it looks to the MBS Microtex acquisition to improve both market penetration and profitability; local area networking is no longer a licence to print money, and Logitek says that the Networks division has consolidated substantial growth last year but that margins have declined in a volatile and increasingly competitive market; it has added Novell Inc and other networking products to the 3Com products it started out with and looks to these to get profitable growth going again; the technical services arm grew 75% and the company has been reducing costs and overheads to keep itself on track.
