Logitech has introduced its new unifying receiver that allows users to connect wireless keyboards and mice to their laptops eliminating the need for multiple wireless receivers. The company said that its new Logitech Unifying receiver can be paired with multiple unifying-compatible Logitech mice and keyboards, freeing up USB ports.

The unifying receiver is debuting with four new products: Wireless Keyboard K350, K340, Marathon Mouse M705 and Wireless Mouse M505.

The company said that the new offering, based on Plug-and-Forget Nano-receiver, is very small and thus users can leave it in their laptop. The unifying receiver can control up to six unifying-compatible Logitech peripherals.

The new keyboards feature 2.4GHz wireless connectivity, fast data transmission and 128-bit AES encryption, said Logitech.

Rory Dooley, senior vice president and general manager of the control devices business at Logitech, said: At Logitech, we’re always looking for ways to make life easier. With this unique new receiver, now you can pick and choose the mouse and keyboard that work best for you whether you’re at the office, at home or on the road.

The company added that battery life of Logitech keyboards is based on a calculation of an estimated two million keystrokes per year in an office environment and battery life for its mice may vary based on user and computing conditions.
