The London, UK-based company said it remains confident of achieving cost savings of at least 60m pounds ($96m) by the end of 2004, and said that overall performance for the combined business had been in line with expectations.

LogicaCMG said that its Wireless Networks business had traded just ahead of break even for the six months to December 31, 2002, on revenue of 160m pounds ($256m). It said that some clients had deferred orders following the announcement, but added that it had since closed a significant deal with Telecom Italia. However, the company is cutting 315 jobs at its wireless operation in Ireland, and said that further rationalization will take place in other countries.

Looking ahead, the company said that it will continue to support and maintain its short messaging service (SMS) products, and plans to release an upgraded version in the second half of 2003. Its messaging portfolio will also include message routing and Open Messaging Gateway products from Logica, with added functionality from CMG’s product line integrated into them.
