Business and technology service company Logica has signed a ten-year outsourcing contract with Portugal’s financial groups Grupo Crédito Agrícola.

Under the agreement, Logica will deliver outsourcing services in GCA’s IT infrastructure and Data Centre management.

The contract also includes the execution of transformation projects that is expected to allow cost reduction and enable a partnership of excellence with a high-quality service, said Logica.

Logica Iberia and Latin America Country Manager José Carlos Gonçalves said: "Logica will provide IT services to the GCA, running a large transformation project, ensuring a high quality service delivery and significant cost savings."

The contract awarded to Logica foresees management, procurement services and accommodation of the skills and abilities of transferred employees during their integration at Logica, guaranteeing flexibility to both parties in their management.

Grupo Crédito Agrícola CA Informática and CA Serviços Board of Directors chairman Jorge Jordão said it has been progressively implementing a Cost Containment and Reduction Program which, in the Information Services field, began in September 2009.

"This Outsourcing Contract for the Management of Infrastructures at the Data Processing Centre puts into practice one of the fundamental measures of said Program, and aims not only at the achievement of a significant improvement in the cost structure, but also the evolution to a higher level of process efficiency and the rationalisation of investments in information and communications technology," Jordão added.
