The computer project, which is known as Sentinel and house the FBI’s case management system, comes after the bureau’s abandoned its previous four-year, $170m IT undertaking, known as the Virtual Case System, last year. Federal contractor SAIC was the vendor leading the project.
The Sentinel project was originally scheduled to be awarded last November, but the award was delayed. The contract doesn’t have an exact amount yet, but it’s expected to be in the hundreds of millions.
Lockheed teamed up with fellow IT services notables Accenture, CSC, and CACI for its bid.
