LITON CONSIDERS GENERAL INSTRUMENT TAIWAN BUY

Liton Electronic Corp of Taipei, Taiwan says it is considering buying the semiconductor business of General Instrument Corp’s Taiwan unit. The price is put at $250m. The semiconductor unit of General Instrument Taiwan Ltd manufactures diode rectifiers for power supplies and other electronic products.
