Suddenly those obsolete 1930s hulks – the most famous ones in the UK being Battersea and Bankside, the former made world famous by the cover of the Pink Floyd album, seem to be in the height of fashion – we’re talking about power stations here and IBM Corp was first with its RS/6000 Powerstations, and now Microsoft Corp has come trotting up behind with a Fortran development system for NT: it calls the $800 suite, $500 until January 31, the Microsoft Fortran PowerStation 32 development system for Windows NT – now that Fortran is so venerable, will history repeat itself with someone coming along and slapping a preservation order on the thing?
