The Bristol, UK-based company has launched LinuxIT Europe, which will offer its business consulting, implementation, support, and training services to businesses across Europe, working with them in their own language and providing regional expertise.

Increasingly we have customers who are continental Europe-based and they need to have an approach that provides our services in a European language, said Peter Dawes-Huish, LinuxIT’s CEO.

The service will target businesses in continental Europe and enable the company to better offer services to businesses operating across the UK and mainland Europe. The company is also looking at the potential to increase its direct presence in Europe.

With relationships with some of the biggest names in Linux including Red Hat, Novell, Mandriva, IBM, Hewlett-Packard, and Dell, LinuxIT claims to be the UK’s leading Linux system integrator and professional services firm.

The company provides its Linux expertise direct to customers as well as through those partners and their own systems integrator partners, and counts HP as its largest Linux support services customer, according to Dawes-Huish.

While it is focused on Linux and open source technologies, it is also a Microsoft Corp Registered Member, and works to integrate Linux into existing environments, rather than ripping out and replacing existing operating systems.

Although we are experts in Linux, we also have expertise in Unix and Microsoft, said Dawes-Huish. We help customers integrate Linux into their environments.
