Xyvision Inc, Wakefield, Massachusetts reports that Linotype AG has exercised an option to obtain the source code licence for software to be used in conjunction with new products being developed by Xyvision for Linotype: Xyvision will receive about $300,000 a month from Linotype for the next 12 months, followed by a one-time payment of $1.6m; Linotype entered into a development and licence agreement with Xyvision in June 1986 for development of a network-oriented workstation, and a networked file and peripheral server; Linotype gets the right to manufacture and market the products under a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence.
