LinkedIn has extended its publishing tool to all members in English-speaking countries, granting the ability to publish ideas, stories and news to more than 230 million people globally.
Launched in early 2014, the service was initially only available to LinkedIn members in the US. LinkedIn product manager Akshay Kothari commented on the LinkedIn blog:
"Each week, members publish more than 40,000 posts on average. Posting on LinkedIn is a powerful way for members to underscore their expertise in their respective fields, extend their professional reputations beyond LinkedIn, and have valuable conversations with the largest group of engaged professionals ever assembled."
LinkedIn also announced plans for further expansion of the publishing tool, aiming to give publishing power to each of the 330 million members currently on LinkedIn.
Kothari said: "In the coming months, all of our members will have access to the publishing platform and will be able to post in the languages LinkedIn currently supports."
To access the publishing tool, which saw a redesign in late 2014, users must click the pencil in their status bar. Users are also able to share their posts on other social media channels using #PublishOnLinkedIn.
