LIGHTGATE BRINGS PRO POINTER TO NATIONAL COMPUTER CONFERENCE

By CBR Staff Writer

Lightgate Inc comes to this week’s National Computer Conference promising to drive all the mice out of Chicago’s McCormick Place with what the Oakland, California company claims to be the first ever miniature optical tablet: designed for CAD/CAM, technical illustration and desktop publishing applications, the unfortunately named Pro Pointer (no, the vice squad wouldn’t be interested) combines precision optical sensors with an internal microcontroller to achieve a resolution of over 300 points per inch – up to five times more precise than a mouse; no price was given.
