License Dashboard has launched License Cleanse service to overcome one of the shortcomings of many license management offerings – collating and analysing the proofs of entitlement.

The new service combines the skills of a team of experienced license auditors with new proprietary technology developed by License Dashboard, and is available from both License Dashboard directly as well as selected accredited Software Asset Management (SAM) resellers.

With the License Cleanse service, organisations can hand over the licensing or purchasing information that have to be ‘cleansed’ into data, which can be used by license management tools.

The new release works by taking the documents provided by the organisations, analysing each line and attempting to reconcile this against a known product from the License Manager software dictionary, which supports over 8,000 software vendors and 45,000 software titles.

In addition, License Cleanse offers possible matches to trained auditors who can use their skills and experience to make the right decisions about the product and its associated usage rights.

License Dashboard Sales & Marketing director Matt Fisher said the rising number of high profile anti-piracy enforcements, the need to effectively manage software assets has never been greater.

"With License Cleanse, we are removing yet another barrier to effective license management and helping organisations ensure they fully understand their licensing position, avoiding both over-spend and involuntary piracy," said Fisher.
