LG Electronics has unveiled its first Android-based smartphone Ally, which will be available in the US through Verizon Wireless from May 20, 2010.
According to LG Electronics, the new Adroid mobile phone comes with 3.2-inch tempered glass touch screen featuring touch vibration for tactile feedback, QWERTY keyboard with simultaneous touch screen capabilities, microSD slot for up to 16GB of memory, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), built-in MP3 and WMA music player, one-touch speaker phone and speaker-independent voice commands.
The company said that the new mobile comes with bluetooth 2.1 capabilities that allow unlimited pairing and supports headset, hands-free, object push, stereo, audio/visual remote control, file transfer, phonebook access, basic printing and instant sharing of photos and videos.
The new LG Ally also features five customisable home screens with shortcuts to text messages, e-mail, apps, social networking sites and widgets. It includes luminous sensor designed to adjust LCD backlight brightness depending on light conditions, and provides access to up to 38,000 apps from around the world in Android market.
In addition, the smartphone also features S-GPS support for enhanced location accuracy in addition to turn-by-turn directions from Google Maps; 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera; and provides access to updates on Twitter, MySpace, Facebook, etc.
The new LG Ally will be available from Verizon Wireless Communications Stores on May 20, 2010 for $99.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.
