LG gave London a sneak preview of its forthcoming G Watch on Tuesday, announcing it will be released in July at an estimated price of £180.

The LG G Watch will be powered by Android Wear, Google’s very own smartwatch operating system.

Android Wear will give all the power of Android and Google Now to smartwatch wearers, with features such as traffic alerts, texts, weather and fitness tracking.

More details about Android Wear will be unveiled by Google at a conference on 25 June.

The second Android Wear-powered smartwatch, Motorola’s Moto 360, is set to be released this summer as well.

Unlike the G Watch, the Moto 360 features a round traditional style face and an always-on screen.
