South Korea-based LCD panel maker LG Display Company will deliver touch-screen panels for Apple’s new iPad LCD.

A source close to the matter was quoted by Reuters as saying that LG is also in a panel supply deal with Samsung for the new iPad.

Previously, it was revealed that Samsung Electronics is the sole vendor for the new iPad that will be on sale from March 19, according to the Bloomberg.

It is due to be released simultaneously in the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Hong Kong.

The new iPad features a new Retina display, Apple’s A5X chip with quad-core graphics and a 5-megapixel iSight camera and can record at 1080p HD video.

Samsung already delivers the chips that power the iPhone and iPad while LG Display has supplied panels for the earlier iPad devices.
