Level One Communications Inc has announced its LXT917 and LXT916 single chip Intelligent Ethernet 10BaseT repeaters with integrated filters and built-in hardware assistance for RMON Remote Monitoring and SNMP Simple Network Management Protocol- compliant applications. The LXT917 has 12 10BaseT ports and the LXT916 supports eight or 16 port architectures. According to the company, both monitor network traffic and maintain management in on-board 32-bit counters which can be accessed at any time by management agents. The LXT917QC is priced at $24 in quantities of 25,000 and the LXT916QC costs $18 in quantities of 25,000.
