Dear Editor,

Reading the news about SNI’s launch of its document management suite in the UK, we were surprised by the statement attributed to Mike Stroud of Siemens Nixdorf Informationssysteme AG, that he is not aware of other document management vendors being certified for SAP R/3 (CI No 3,381). The certification by SAP, which is valid worldwide and not on a country-by-country basis, is not a secret. All certified products and solutions are listed on the SAP Web page (http://www.sap.com/products/compsoft/certify). The information you are able to retrieve there shows that in the area of document management systems (SAP R/3 interface : PP-DMS) only Documentum and two other suppliers are listed, but not SNI. The listed SNI solution is a very old one and only certified for SAP R/2. Under the same Web-address, there is a further category, named Imaging systems, optical archiving, which shows a quite high number of suppliers certified for SAP R/3 (SAP R/3 interface : ArchiveLink) including Documentum and also SNI. Documentum is the only document management system company world wide, certified on both SAP R/3 interfaces for document management systems. We would like you to clarify the actual situation and minimise the confusion in the market place.

Sincerely yours,

Josef Huber European Marketing Director Documentum International Inc
