Depressingly, given that Nimbus Ltd has the technology to cram an entire movie – well anything that does not run over two hours 15 minutes, on a single 5 disk, Victor Co of Japan Ltd, Sony Corp, Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd and Philips Electronics NV have put their commercial interests ahead of those of the poor benighted user, and agreed a substandard standard based on that for Karaoke CD, which they say enables 74 minutes of motion pictures of similar quality to current video cassette recorders to be stored on a 5 optical disk, so that you will have to change the disk halfway through the movie; best advice is for consumers to shun the system and wait for someone to pick up the Nimbus one.
