Lenovo unveils new ThinkPad ultrabook

Announced the entire 2012 ThinkPad lineup coming with Intel's Ivy Bridge CPUs

By CBR Staff Writer

Lenovo has revealed details of its upcoming ThinkPad X1 Carbon laptop, which the company claims to be the lightest 14-inch Ultrabook.

Lenovo has also announced new models of Ivy Bridge-powered ThinkPad laptops in its T, X, L and W Series.

The ThinkPad X1 Carbon has a carbon fiber rollcage which makes the Ultrabook durable and comes with 3G connectivity and Intel vPro technology for manageability, the company stated.

Lenovo Think Product Group senior vice president Lu Yan said the company has crafted the ThinkPad X1 Carbon with premium carbon fibre material in order to make it incredibly thin and light, yet durable.

"Our new ThinkPad laptop portfolio embodies much of the innovative thinking exemplified in the X1 Carbon, such as a backlit keyboard, super-bright high definition display, Dolby Home Theatre and rich communications features that balance business performance with personal use," Yan added.

The new ThinkPad X, T, W, and L Series models feature 3rd Generation Intel Core processors and Lenovo Enhanced Experience 3.0 (EE 3.0) with RapidBoot technology including Dolby audio and 300 NIT HD+ panels.

The two models of ThinkPad X series, the X230 and X230t, have twelve and a half inch displays, 4G mobile broadband, USB 3.0 docks and Dolby Audio.

The T430s is the ThinkPad line’s lightest 14-inch laptop featuring docking and vPro, while the T530 offers a 15-inch full HD display.

ThinkPad W530, part of the ThinkPad W series, contains NVIDIA Quadro mobile graphics processors with Optimus power management technology and allows 270 nit angle display and a 1TB hard drive.
