Lenovo looks to drive EMEA smartphone & wearables with new GM

Appointment will be responsible for both business strategy and direction of sales.

Lenovo has appointed a new Vice President and GM of EMEA Smartphone as the company looks to grow the business unit.

Oliver Ebel will take the role and will be responsible for both the business strategy and direction for all sales and marketing activities. In addition, he will be heading the business relationships for smartphones in the region.

Ebel’s previous roles include VP and GM of Lenovo MEA where he oversaw operations in the region and was responsible for strategy development for the PC, smartphones, tablets and servers business.

Eric Cador, President, Lenovo EMEA, SVP Lenovo Group, said: "Oliver’s leadership and business achievements in the Middle East & Africa region speak for themselves.

"He has put our mobile business firmly on the map in this region by achieving huge growth in a very short space of time. Under his leadership our Smartphone business right across EMEA will only go from strength to strength."
