Lenovo introduces new server for small and medium size organisations

The new server will support up to 16 processor cores

Chinese PC maker Lenovo newly formed Enterprise Product Group has introduced its first server, ThinkServer TD330, targeting small and medium size organisations.

The ThinkServer TD330 is based on Intel’s Xeon E5-2400 processor family and will support up to 16 processor cores.

Lenovo said that the new server is designed to handle behind-the-scenes IT tasks for small-and-medium-sized businesses starting from schools to retail deployments and distributed environments such as banks with various locations.

The new features about 192GB of memory, a variety of hard drive and network card choices, and advanced RAID options with battery backup and cache.

According to Lenovo, every ThinkServer TD330 features EasyStartup, EasyUpdate and EasyManage which makes it simple to setup, configure and manage the server.

Recently, Lenovo formed the Enterprise Product Group, which deals in servers, storage, networking and software offerings headed by Roy Guillen, vice president and general manager of the division.

Guillen said that the company has placed expanded emphasis on building its server portfolio this year, introducing products that meet the needs of all its customers from enterprise customers to small businesses.
