Novell Inc has signed a deal with China’s top computer maker Legend Holdings which will put Novell’s internet caching system on Legend’s new range of servers which are targeted at the internet service provider market. The caching system stores frequently accessed web pages and other internet content to enable faster download speeds for users. This reduces information processing time for the ISPs, saving them telecommunications costs.
The agreement marks the beginning of a long alliance between Novell and Legend, according to the US firmÆs China regional manager John Wang. This agreement around the Novell Internet Caching System is a starting point for Novell and Legend as strategic worldwide partners, he said.
