Tape data storage subsystems specialist Legacy Storage Systems International Inc has signed an OEM agreement with Fujitsu Systems Business of Canada Inc for its Legacy/Quasarmetrics VAST under which it will carry out global marketing of its on-line mass storage system. Fujutsu Systems will be targeting the system at document imaging, geographical information systems and the broadcast market. It will also target it at Unix TCP/IP Ethernet environments where storage of large files is needed. The storage system and file server has a minimum storage capacity of 100Gb using two 12mm tape transports and a maximum capacity of 1.5Tb. It also has a a 4Gb cache memory. Legacy acquired the on-line storage system when it bought Quasermetrics Inc. The company said it would strike similiar OEM deals to sell the storage system into other markets.
