Microsoft is reportedly working on a new browser, code named Spartan, for its upcoming Windows 10 operating system. The browser will reportedly come integrated with the Cortana digital assistant, according to leaked images by Cnbeta.
The Verge reports that Spartan will come with digital inking support that enables the sharing and annotating of web pages, with Cortana appearing in the address bar and throughout the browser.
Powered by the Trident rendering engine and the Chakra JavaScript engine that form part of Internet Explorer, Spartan will also enable Windows 10 users to merge tabs however they would like, splitting work and personal tabs if needed.
Similar to Google Now, Cortana will provide users with information on tracked flights, hotel bookings, package tracking, in addition to a host of other information.
The US tech firm is planning to develop light and dark themes with colour accents for Windows 10, while maintaining the look and feel of the existing user interface for Windows Phone.
There have also been tweaks of built-in apps to match the new colour schemes, with a new Xbox app hinting at the final version of Windows 10 OS.
A new Lumia camera app is replacing the previous camera app, in addition to a new photos app and an updated calculator app for the newer OS version.
