Commenting on the semiconductor dispute between the US and Japan, Orchid Technology chief Le Bui said that when Orchid used to buy from Japanese firms, the retail price for memory chips would be $2.18, and the Japanese would offer them at $1.80 but that now the fear of stiff tariffs has made it impossible to find cheap Japanese chips.
