ERP software vendor Lawson Software Inc yesterday announced a deal with application integration firm TSI International Software Ltd to resell its Mercator transformation engine. TSI’s Mercator integration broker provides XML-to-any transformation and integration. Specifically, Lawson will offer the product to its customers to help them integrate the Lawson Insight II collaborative commerce suite with other web-based applications in order to facilitate B2B e-commerce.
The first successful implementation of the combined product is providing business-to-business integration between Lawson applications and the IBM Net.Commerce product for 2TheMart.com, a new electronic marketplace, Lawson said. Mercator provides any- to-any data transformation and mapping between external data formats and the XML data formats utilized by Lawson’s ERP applications. The collaborative commerce suite is an integrated set of pre-configured business applications that allows users to create inter- or intra-enterprise business processes between Lawson’s applications and other, third-party applications.
