Through this strategic alliance, the companies will integrate the lawson.insight(TM) eProcurement Service with Neoforma’s healthcare marketplace solutions to provide an optimized, end-to-end eProcurement solution for Lawson healthcare customers.

Neoforma and Lawson will debut their integration technology with Allina Health System, an integrated delivery network (IDN) of 11 hospitals based in Minneapolis. The two companies will work with Allina, a mutual customer, in developing the integration technology to connect Lawson’s eProcurement Service and Marketplace@Novation(TM), the Internet supply chain marketplace powered by Neoforma.

Allina is looking forward to the new relationship between Lawson and Neoforma as we move more and more into adopting eBusiness processes throughout the enterprise, said Terry Schneider, vice president, material services at Allina in a media commentary. This new synergy between our organizations will allow Allina to leverage the efficiencies of Internet procurement to realize even faster operational improvement.

Under the terms of the agreement, Lawson and Neoforma will jointly develop application programming interfaces (APIs) that will enable Lawson users to deeply integrate their internal systems with Neoforma’s healthcare supply chain marketplaces. In developing these interfaces, Lawson and Neoforma will enable higher levels of supply chain collaboration and information sharing, resulting in lower costs healthcare supply chain participants.

We look forward to delivering significant value to our mutual hospital customers by connecting our supply chain marketplaces with Lawson’s technology, added Dan Eckert, president and chief operating officer of Neoforma. We view the opportunity to work with Lawson at Allina to be an important step in the further development of our integration capabilities.
